Loughborough Community Centre

In Lambeth, Loughborough Community Centre at Max Roach is exploring a campaign to protect a vital community asset currently under threat due to insecure leasing arrangements. Their goal is to secure long-term community ownership of the space and preserve it as a hub for local organising and support.

The Parents’ Purse

We’re keeping more pounds in Brixton — with a mission to value care at the centre of our local economy. In Lambeth, we want to create the Parents’ Purse: a community-led campaign that will ensure more resources flow directly into parents’ hands, enabling an essential space of mutual support for parents and families. This is about creating a community based on what we value. By piloting this in Brixton, we’re building the infrastructure, trust, and relationships needed to create a local system where parents support each other, where care is recognised as a value, and where we grow collective power. Over time, this work lays the foundation for something even bigger: a local economy shaped by us, owned by us, and rooted in the values of community, care, and cooperation.
